The digestive power is vital for disease free life, it is known as ‘Jataragni’ in Ayurveda.
Just like the fire cooks our food, the Jataragni or the enzymes in our stomach digest the food we consume.
When the digestive power is diminished the consumed food will not get digested properly, consequently it turns to poison, which is called as ‘Ama’ in Ayurveda.
Ama in the body will block the minute channels and blood vessels.
Further it produces the symptoms like fatigue, fever, heaviness, bloated stomach, abdominal discomfort, indigestion, and secretion of excessive saliva, loss of taste, body weakness, and constipation.
Also, by these above mentioned symptoms you can realize that the food has not digested properly and Ama has formed in your body.
As a result, Ama can spread in your body and causes several diseases.
For Example: Rheumatoid Arthritis, fever, high blood cholesterol, fatty liver, gall stones, obesity, PCOD / PCOS, heart disease, allergies, skin problem, sinus problem, migraines, hormonal imbalances, tumors, etc
Causes for digestive problems:
- Failure to eat on time.
• Eating too fast, so it will bring digestive problems.
• Eating excessive or very less.
• Also consuming excessive oily foods.
• Stress, anxiety, anger, etc.
• Chronic diabetes.
• Gallbladder stones.
• Intake of alcohol.
• Hyper secretion of gastric juice.
• Due to certain antibiotics, steroids, thyroid medicines, contraceptives, aspirin, pain killers, etc.
